On this five day Rwanda Safari excursion you visit Rwanda’s major tourist sites. These include Akagera National Park, and Volcanoes National Park.
Activities to do on this excursion include Mountain Gorilla trekking, Game drives and Boat ride. Upon arrival at Kigali airport you will be picked by our guide. Transfer to your hotel in Kigali for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park
Early in the morning have breakfast and after check out for transfer to Akagera National Park in Eastern Rwanda. Arriving check in at the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for the exciting boat ride on Lake Ihema exposing you to different aquatic species including Hippos, crocodiles and water birds like shoebill stork, papyrus Gonolek, and African fish eagle.
Day 2: Morning Game drive – Evening Boat Ride
Have breakfast in the morning and after set out for the game drive using suitable 4×4 wheel drive pop up Safari jeep in search for early risers and predators like impala, oribi, bushbuck, antelope, Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, Hyenas, zebra, cape eland, giraffe and more.
After the exciting activity return to the Lodge for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat ride on River Akagera and to the nearby lakes which will expose you to different water loving birds and animal species that come along the shorelines in need of some water. Dinner and overnight stay at Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 3: Akagera – Ruhengeri
After breakfast you transfer to Ruhengeri town. It is situated near Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, have a short tour around the town visiting different local markets. After this, transfer to your place of residence for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes
After breakfast in the morning, you will transfer up to the Park headquarters for registration, briefing about how to behave while in Jungle and with Gorillas and Gorilla group allocation. After briefing conducted you will be accompanied by your ranger guide and armed officers on the journey into the forest to search for these great Apes.
After locating the Gorillas, you will be allowed to spend only one hour with them granting you an opportunity of taking photographs, videos, seeing them feeding, laughing and more.
After this, you will transfer back to your lodge with acquired Gorilla trek experiences and memories for relaxation. In the evening, you can visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo for cultural experiences.
Day 5: Volcanoes – Kigali
After breakfast early in the morning, you will be transferred by our guide to Kigali city for the included short city tour where you can visit the Genocide memorial sites, Local schools and local markets within location. Then after be transferred to the Airport for your flight back home or check in at hotel in Kigali.
