18 Day Jinja, Kidepo, Kibale Chimps & Gorillas

Take this 18 day wildlife safari to have what Uganda has to offer. It is a round trip. It starts from Kampala to the northern part of Uganda. From northern Uganda to the western region and back to Kampala.

Day 1: Kampala – Jinja

On this day you are welcomed by our guide. From Entebbe, you drive straight to Jinja. Check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: White water rafting & Boat Cruise

Early in the morning you transfer to the headquarters of Adrift for briefing. After shift to the starting point for the adventure. This excursion starts in the morning like at 10:00 am and lasts for about 3 – 4 hours. In the evening you will have a boat cruise to the source of River Nile.

Day 3: Jinja – Sipi falls

From Jinja you drive to Sipi Falls. These plunging falls are located in Kapchorwa district. You leave Jinja with packed lunch and arrive at Sipi River Lodge in the evening. You will have an evening walk to see the falls.

Day 4: Sipi Falls hike – Coffee tour

You spend a half day walking villages and hiking to see the three falls. There is a local guide to lead you around. After return to the lodge to have your lunch. In the evening you will have a coffee tour. After return to the lodge.

Day 5: Sipi – Moroto

From Sipi you will drive straight to Moroto. There is an enroute stopover to visit the local communities of Karamajongs in Nakapiripiriti. After continue to Moroto for an overnight stay at Karatunga.

Day 6: Moroto – Kaboong

From Moroto you continue to Kaboong. This drive includes a stopover in Kotido to visit Nakaperimoru village, the biggest village of the karamajongs in East Africa. A local guide will lead you around this village. After continue to Kaboong for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Kaboong – Kidepo

From Kaboong you continue with the Journey and enter Kidepo Valley national park. You will arrive late in the evening and start with an evening game drive. After check in at the lodge for dinner and night stay.

Day 8: Game Drive in Kidepo

Have morning breakfast. After start the game driving around the park to see various wild animals include some of the big fives, giraffes, zebras and more. After return to the lodge for lunch. In the evening you will do another game drive.

Day 9: Second Game drive

On this day you go for another drive in the Narus valley to see more wild animals in the park. You spend the all-day seeing animals, views of towering volcanoes and more.

Day 10: Kidepo – Gulu

Early in the morning you will do a drive as you move out of the Park. The journey from Kidepo to Gulu takes about 6-7 hours. You will arrive in Gulu after lunch. Check in at the lodge to spend the rest of the hours relaxing.

Day 11: Gulu – Murchison Falls

In the morning after breakfast you continue with the journey to Murchison. You arrive in time for Lunch. Check in at the lodge to have your lunch. In the evening you have a game drive in the Park

Day 12: Game Drive & Boat Cruise

Early in the morning have your breakfast. After get in the car for a morning game drive to see various wild animals like elephants, buffaloes, kobs and other wildlife species. After lunch you will do a boat cruise to see various aquatic species like water birds, hippopotamus, crocodiles, and more.

Day 13: Top of the fall – Kibale

Early in the morning after breakfast you will start with a visit to the top of the falls. From there you continue with a drive to Kibale forest national park. This journey takes about 3-4 hours. You will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch you can relax at the lodge or have an evening walk in Bigodi wetland.

Day 14: Chimpanzee tracking

Early in the morning after breakfast you transfer to Kanywanchu tourism center for briefing. After you start the journey to the jungle to search for the chimpanzee primates. These animals are very active, tourists are required to maintain their voices at low tone. Once you locate them, you be in their presence for a period of one hour. After return to the lodge.   

Day 15: Kibale – Drive to Bwindi

From Kibale you drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the western region of Uganda. This park is known for the rare Mountain gorillas. You will reach the park in the evening and check in at the lodge.

Day 16: Gorilla Trekking

Have the early morning breakfast. After drive to the starting point where you will be briefed by the park officials about how to behave in the jungles.

You are divided into groups of 8 people. Each gorilla family is allowed to be visited by one group of eight people per day. After briefing, you head to the Jungle following the permanently established routes in search of these apes.

When you locate these apes in the Jungles you are allowed to stay in their presence for only one hour while seeing them playing, feeding, laughing plus taking photos and videos of them. After the one hour session you return to the Park offices.      

Day 17: Full Day Lake Bunyonyi

After the hustle and bustle of Gorilla trekking you relax in Lake Bunyonyi. On this day you will have a remarkable boat cruise on the waters of Lake Bunyonyi. After boat you spend an evening relaxing at the lodge. This place is serene and ideal for relaxing holidays.

Day 18: Lake Bunyonyi – Drive back to Kampala

From Lake Bunyonyi you will drive straight to Kampala or Entebbe airport for your return flight. End of Safari.
